Let the Painting for Wildlife challenge begin!... and end 24-hours later 🎨
At 12:00pm on the 26th of May 2019 I began my 24-hour non-stop paintathon to help fund my trip to take part in a project aimed at conserving big cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs in the Naboisho Conservancy which borders the Masaai Mara National Reserve in Kenya 🐆🐾
Thanks to all of the amazing support, £810 was raised through this challenge, where 10% is going directly to purchasing essential equipment for conservation education in local Masaai schools 📖
So far I've been able to buy a camera, a tablet, binoculars, memory sticks, and a selection of East African wildlife identification guide books to donate to the schools thanks to all of your help! 🙏
If you were keeping track of my paintathon then you've probably seen the 19 paintings I produced and plastered all over Facebook and Instagram during the 24-hours... 😅
If not, or if you just want to see them for the 100th time, then check them out below! 🎨
I'll be posting more about getting prepared for the project in the following weeks so check back if you're interested, and thank you all again so much for your support!!
